Ken 'Peanut' Patten

Ken is an artist born and bred in Newcastle, who has been involved in tattooing one way or another for nearly 25 years. His interest in the art of tattooing started in his teens, when he had already performed some hand tattoos - this started a long journey designing and creating tattoos right up to the present day. Ken has a great eye for detail and a real passion for his art, which can be seen in his work of realism, black and grey and cover-up tattoos. He has a great deal to offer both the industry and public.

Martin 'Smartie' Couley

Martin was also born and bred in Newcastle, and is part of a large family. He struggled through school with dyslexia, only getting through because of his creativity and artistic talent.He spent nearly 2 years with the Army Cadets, but on leaving school decided that he wanted to become a tattooist. After working on building sites he finally got his break 2 years ago with Ken here at The Tattoo Station, and he has never looked back. Already in this short time he has won 2 awards, with undoubtedly many more to come. He is totally dedicated to tattooing, although still finds time for his other passions - eating steak, his car, and his Bosch Monitor lizard ‘The Fat One’. Rest of the world...watch this space!

Kate (Apprentice)

Kate is a (typical blonde) Geordie lass. She has been passionate about drawing ever since she picked up her first crayon, and found the idea of drawing on skin amazing - the tattooing dream began!

Her lucky break into the industry was thanks to a chance encounter with Martin at school, who put her name forward to Ken. Ken decided there was room for one more at The Tattoo Station and an apprentice was born!

When she's not at The Tattoo Station or drawing, Kate enjoys other passions in life - eating chocolate, spending money and dressing up like a pirate for nights on the toon!
