Does it hurt?
Pain is really relative - everyone has a different tolerancy to pain. Many people describe a tattoo as uncomfortable, but not too painful - more of a 'scratching'. Many people are nervous getting their first tattoo, and realise that their expectation of the pain is far worse than what it actually feels like. Put it this way - millions of people return time after time for more tattoos, so it can't be that bad!
Different people state different areas of the body as being 'the worst', but typically bony surface areas like the feet, wrists and ribs are considered more painful than muscular areas such as the arms or legs.

What should I get, and where?
This is all a matter of personal taste. You can get whatever you want - your only limit is your imagination. As far as where you should get it goes, it's up to you how much you want to show it off. Many people love bold placements that everyone can see; others prefer having a tattoo where it can be easily covered up with normal clothing. Your body also dictates what will suit you in terms of shape and placement, and your artist will advise on this. If you're having trouble deciding on or describing what you want, speak to us! We create custom designs from scratch for many customers.

How much will it cost?
We will not provide a 'price list' of any sort on this website, or via email for one good reason: our tattoo artists are precisely that - artists! Each piece is different, each customer is different, and the time and methods taken differ greatly. Your tattoo will be on your body for the rest of your life and unique to you, so choosing one based on price instead of quality is not a sensible idea. Please visit us to discuss the piece you want and we can give an accurate quotation. There's no such thing as a good and cheap tattoo!

How long will it take?
Again, each piece is different, each customer is different, and the time and methods taken differ greatly. Basically, a quality tattoo takes as long as it takes to do it properly. Your artist will give you a time estimate when you book your appointment(s).

Can I still get tattooed when I'm sick?
Getting a tattoo when your immune system isn't at its best isn't a good idea. You'll need your strength and your white blood cells to heal your tattoo, something your body won't be able to do if it's already doing battle against virus and bacteria. Not to mention the fact it's inconsiderate to bring your illness into the tattoo studio and risk passing the germs onto your artist! If you have an appointment, call and reschedule for when you're feeling well again.
Note: If you suffer from haemophilia, hepatitis or any other blood-related illness please speak to our artists, in confidence if you wish, for further advice.

Alcohol and drug usage
We will refuse to tattoo anyone who appears intoxicated - alcohol thins the blood, making you bleed more easily, making it more difficult for your artist to tattoo - and it doesn't do your skin any favours for healing either! We recommend that you don't drink alcohol for 24 hours before your appointment. We will also refuse to tattoo anyone under the influence of drugs as they all impair the body in one way or another.
